Cyber risk your board can act on.
Board reporting, risk in financial terms, and due diligence prep.
Board and investor cyber advisory turns your security posture into something leadership can actually decide on. AZEN gives your board an honest picture of real risk, expressed in financial terms, with a prioritized roadmap tied to exposure rather than vendor categories. It is used by boards preparing for fundraising, M&A, or regulatory review, and by CEOs who have no one credible to put in front of investors on cyber. Delivered as a single engagement or ongoing quarterly support.
What is included
Everything below is owned by AZEN, not handed back to your team as a to-do list.
- A board-ready picture of your real risk, not a technical summary
- Security risk expressed in dollars leadership can weigh against other bets
- A prioritized roadmap tied to actual exposure and business impact
- Budget clarity on what to spend, where, and why
- Due diligence readiness for fundraising or M&A
- Optional quarterly check-ins to keep the board current
Spend where it removes the most risk.
Most boards approve cyber spend with no way to judge it, so the number gets set by fear or by the loudest vendor. AZEN brings a risk and return method instead. Every dollar is measured against the risk it removes, so leadership can see why the company should spend on one thing and not another.
Put a dollar on the risk
Estimate the annual expected loss for each major risk: how likely it is, multiplied by what it would cost the business. A ransomware event that is only moderately likely still carries a large number when the impact is a week of downtime, lost customers, and breach notification. This is the annual loss the risk represents today.
Price the control honestly
Establish what it costs per year to meaningfully reduce that specific risk, including the people and process to run it, not just the license. A tool nobody operates reduces nothing, so the real cost is the fully loaded one.
Measure the risk it removes
Estimate how much of that expected loss the control actually removes, and what residual risk remains after it. A control that does not move the number does not earn a place in the budget, however well it demos.
Compare the return
Return on security investment is the expected loss avoided, minus the cost of the control, divided by that cost. Fund the controls where the return is clearly positive, in order of risk reduced per dollar spent, until the next dollar buys less risk reduction than it costs.
Defend every line
Each item in the budget now maps to a risk it reduces and a return it produces. That is how a CEO answers why the company is spending on this and not that, to the board, to investors, and to a regulator, without hand waving.
The method is often called return on security investment. The point is not the formula. It is that every number in the budget can be defended by the risk it removes.

What you get
A board that understands its exposure and makes funded, defensible decisions, and a company ready for the scrutiny of diligence.
Questions, answered
Can you present directly to our board?
Yes. AZEN prepares the material and delivers the briefing, in person in South Florida or remotely, and answers the board's questions as your security advisor.
We have fundraising diligence coming. Can you prepare us?
Yes. This is where board advisory and due diligence prep overlap. AZEN gets your security story and evidence ready before an acquirer's or investor's team examines it.
Is this a one-time engagement or ongoing?
Either. Many boards start with a single briefing and add quarterly check-ins to stay current as risk and the business change.
